Homeplugs

Hi Guys,

I will be moving rooms soon, and I have no way of getting internet in the room unless I use Homeplugs

The Homeplug will need to be connected to a Netgear Switch (Which I already have)

Can you guys recommend good Homeplugs

Do you have coaxial cable in your room? I ask because I was in a similar circumstance and found the best solution for me was to use MOCA (Multimedia over Coax Alliance). It can be expensive but the speed is great.

I have a Devolo (not sure if they are available in the UK) Powerline kit for more than 3 years and it's been really reliable so far. For whatever reason the network transfer speeds are sometimes slower than the internet connection, but I guess that's because of the crappy router.

Sorry just realised they are the same as above...

Also I have BT Infinity, I know I won't get the speeds over AC Plugs, but should it work OK?? (Not worried about speed)

You'll get pretty damn close to your rated speeds, so I wouldn't worry about that.

They are up to 500mb - Mine even list the connection to the router being 1.0gbps - so you should be pretty close to getting those speeds

You'll get pretty damn close to your rated speeds, so I wouldn't worry about that.
