Hi guys building a new system in next few weeks with my compo money ouch my neck

it will have either a 2500k or a 2600k a gtx 570 and 8gig of corsair vengance ram which should rock only thing is i was playing bfbc2 the other day and i thought this is running fast do i realy need a new chip or shall i just get a graphics card and and save some ££££££ so i guess the question is will my current motherboard and cpu hold a new gen card back ie cause a bottleneck , any advice will be appreciated thanks

Well to answer we would need to know what cpu and mobo you currently have. But 9 times out of 10, a better graphics card will yield better results than spending all the money on a new cpu and mobo.

bc2 is a funny beast as frostbite is the cryengine in drag so it does love the cpu cycles too.

as said what your running now (hardware and res) is needed before we can really say.

yea i looked after posting and as good as the wolfdale is games like bc2 love quads.

if its free money from a compo claim blow it on a pc and call the build log whiplash

its running bfbc2 fine get really good frames i am just wondering about bf3 and crysis 2 which i am going to test in a sec just got demo, going to get a 24" 1080p monitor too so frames will drop then anyway and yeah i think i might blow it all on a 2500k or 2600k was even contemplating getting 2 480gtx's but after what tom said in a review about heat and noise i don't want 2 keyring's sat at bottom of my case will get a gtx 570 then save for another 1 and calling the rig whiplash sounds good to me
