Hogwarts Legacy's latest update brings Arachnophobia Mode, and a huge list of fixes

That's an impressively large update. It's great to see the devs dedicated to improving the game.

Welcome to the pussified western world.
Don't be so harsh, my man. It's a simple option that we don't have to toggle while making a game much more appealing for other people who do toggle it. So welcome to the world of possibilities :)

Same with RGB: Don't like it? Don't buy it or turn it off.

I think we need to remember that Harry Potter is enjoyed by all ages, including those under 10 yrs old.

Removing scary things for the timid is fine. Making games Woke friendly to appease the sensitive SJWs is not :)

The truth can often be harsh, the western world is pathetic.

Arachnophobia is real and not pathetic. It this update means people with arachnophobia can now play when they previously would not be able to then that's great. Why would that be considered pathetic. It's just another accessibility option which has no negative effects.

I have arachnophobia... but it's a game, It's not real. What's next ? Replace guns in FPS games with bubble machines so people don't break down crying because of those nasty pixels ? This is just more snowflake behaviour.

So just because YOU don't have an issue whilst playing, it's not a real issue? Please! Don't be so closed minded.

Maybe you don't suffer to the same degree as others. The Ex-partner could not watch me play a game with spiders in it, or would not be able to watch films with them in - she was genuinely terrified of them.

I know Xenomorphs aren't real. Doesn't mean I don't still have nightmares about them from when I was a kid.

Everyone is different.

If the update helps others and doesn't do any harm to anyone else, there's literally no negative. It's really silly to be so judgemental over something so trivial as a game update.

You can have your opinion I can have mine, Western world = clown land.

Considering the movies and books talk and show spiders, it's a wonder people who have this issue even are interested in such a franchise.

Given the out of control world we have with genders, pronouns,Karens, etc I wouldnt be surprised if I saw a protest saying that "hogwarts school is biased" and needs to be recoded.

Afterall... we do have people saying that maths is racist now and that 2+2 might actually be 5, if it wanted to be...

I do think though that this update is trying to cater for the youth, and the timid. Games that have the option to turn blood effects on or off have existed for years, so why not have something like this?

Don't get me wrong I don't care :D

It's something that is known about HP. People should try to overcome their fears by realizing it's fake. Virtual. Now if it was a VR experience? I 100% understand. But no VR? Seems kinda sad to me to have it.

At the end of the day I don't care. I haven't and probably won't buy it so it is what it is. Its just an option in a video game, if you want it great if you don't great

I was not joking. Google it and you will see stupidity at its best. Warning*** it may reduce your current IQ.
Just a quick excerpt from: https://www.seattletimes.com/

It’s not that the formulas and equations taught in current math classes are racist, Castro-Gill said — it’s about how they’re used in daily life.
“Nowhere in this document says that math is inherently racist,” she said. “It’s how math is used as a tool for oppression.”
So I hope it was just a misunderstanding :D

Nah I think it's completely valid. As a society we're becoming less resilient purely because we encourage avoiding any kind of discomfort. The more we coddle society, the more we set them up for failure. The real world won't hold their hand so the more people that become responsible for themselves, the better. Plus we're talking about pixels, not even real spiders. It's not like it's a complete surprise for there to be a giant spider.

Here is the brief extract from an interview. Ok I know its fox, but still...this silly excuse of a woman literally believes maths itself is racist. Not the social construct etc.

A friend I went to school with is originally from Nigeria, Absolute maths wiz, Now works for some high flying accounting firm raking in 6+ figures per year, I sent him a video akin to this and his words were -

"This is why people with a sub 70 IQ shouldn't breed, They blame everything on racism yet in reality they are the epitome of stupid and lazy" :yelrotflmao:

I've noticed people like her tend to use the "tHaT'S rAcIsT" playbook to try and lower the qualifying bar for something so people who are basically imbeciles can get jobs they aren't qualified for.

There's a good old saying that's very apt for the modern western world, Or more specifically US, UK and a couple of EU countries...

“Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”

We are currently in the latter stage, We have truly weak men in the western world due to testosterone levels plummeting creating highly hyper emotional and mentally unstable men along with an increase in estrogen in mens bodies, That is a dangerous cocktail. And mentally unstable people fighting to sanitize life, Censor words, Radically change language, Trying to tell people that unless they bend to their way of thinking and deny reality they have various phobias etc.... if the UK, US and some EU countries aren't full on 1984-esque dystopian societies by 2030 I will be truly amazed.
