Hissing noise from my monitor during boot up only

hi guys,

very recently, during bootup (either restart or turning rig on) i get this weird hissing noise from my monitor speakers.

increasing/decreasing monitor volume will either increase the noise or reduce it respectively.

Its conneted to my gpu via HDMI.

The monitor is just over 1 year old, its an LG flatron M2262D LCD monitor/Tv.

I have replaced the HDMI cable but the problem still persists.

any ideas?

system spects are in my sig.

both CPU and gpu are overclocked.

Thanks

I had a similar problem with my monitor. It is an HPw2408h and is about 4 years old. One day the picture was all messed up with pink and purple colors during boot up and if I tried to get into BIOS. once the computer booted up it seemed to work okay. I thought my video card went out but when I put in a different video card the problem was still there. I moved my home office into another room in the house and after the move the monitor fixed itself. Have not had a problem since, that was about 6 months ago. Sorry I cannot offer a fix or any further insight into the problem.

Thanks for the info!

So any ideas what could have caused this in one room but not in the other?

Maybe wireless devices?

The thing that makes me think that it's not an interference issue is that it has occurred recently, my rig has been in the same place since last summer.

:/ hmm what could be the cause of this...

When it happened to my I tried everything from changing video cards to trying HDMI, DVI and VGA connections. Nothing seemed to work. I was about ready to go out and get a new monitor. Had a niceone all picked out. Then just like that, after the move everything worked great. I think there is something loose in the monitor and getting banged around during the move fixed whatever was loose.

Try not to take audio input from HDMI for your monitors, instead try using onboard audio. If you have already tried this then manage doing without using monitor speakers at all i.e. no input...that could maybe solve the problem.

Looks to me like a case of broken monitor speakers.

I have this problem also, when i boot up my PC when i wake up every morning my speakers make a hissing noise, it doesn't really bother me as boot up doesn't last that long.... But whenever i restart my PC i get a pink "filter" over my boot up screen, but this goes away after windows loads up. I am using DVI and i also used HDMI :/ I was starting to think i have a dodgy GPU.

thats odd why don't you use DVI?

As for a solution try changing the preset on an HP monitor I saw you cannot use GAMING or MOVIE preset with HDMI.

Also try to disable sound through HDMI (I'm assuming since you have a soundcard you're not using your monitor speakers?)press START-type SOUND it is under control panel should be the one that says Sound and nothing else
