ok, i put the last thread in the wrong area, but does anyone have a pic of how the screen should connect to the controller?

It should only connect one way the cable has like a clip on it it will clip into the controller and also the display

ok, when i plug in the display all the lights remain on at the back of the unit, when i unplug the screen everything goes ok, this is very weird...

well phil said that ect had gone back to basics, and ship the displays separately...i just plugged it in and it remained blank, would the st have a socket to connect the screen?

Yes the ST would have a look at the sticker on the back of the unit it will say what it is and what gas is in it

Also NEVER plug and unplug a display while the unit is powered up this will cause damage

its a gt...ok, now when i plug in the mains power, the screen goes on, but it is blank, the mach starts up normally...Firmware issue?

I think I said in teh other thread you started about this that you should reload the firmware (slaps wrists for not listening) and then say if the issue is still there.

so yes it COULD be, rule it out by reloading.

Cheers

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the tunning screw for the display if it is turned down all the way the screen will appear blank it is a smal screw pot mounted just above where the cable plugs into the board turn clockwise for brighter
