From out about OC3D from watching some reviews on youtube. Been very helpful as I had been evaluating Cases for a new rig I'm planning. Years and years ago, I closely followed PC components and dabbled in building my own systems. Then life and time took a course shift about the early x486 years.
Been picking up prebuilt system since early 90's now. Probably could build my own, and I know now there are thousands out there to help me, but honestly, I would rather put my time elsewhere, and I dont mind paying a small premium to have it build. Thinking about using ironsidescomputers.
I had been planning on 3770k, but enough time has passed that 4770k is available.
I'm not a heavy gamer, but would like to on occasion. I do plan to do lots of video transcoding, editing, to make home movies from older pictures and movie. So in my mind CPU processing power is perhaps more important that GPU. That said. I've been thinking gigabyte gtx 670 OC, though I see there are newer versions now. I've been told for my needs SLI would be a waste of money. As would going over 16GB of RAM. Was considering boards above the GTX 670, but seems to accept advice it would more than suite my needs, and the price difference for 680 isnt worth it.
is the 4770k worth the extra cost over the 3770k? I dont upgrade computers to often, I tend to use them until they can barely function anymore.
Basic system concept.
3770k (or 4770k)
16GB RAM
256GB SSD
GTX 670
BluRay R/W (I need to burn my video content onto blu ray to share)
Power supply ?? 650w? 750w?
Case? had been thinking Corsair 500R. Dont like the plastic look on nzxt,
but really like having a window.
Price range about $2k+
So Hello.. and welcome the feedback. Forgive if I should post most of this in a different forum on the site.. I'll learn
