would it be feasible/possible to RAID an array of SDHD cards (the type of memory cards use in digital cameras) ???

or, has it already been done ?

Hey Dug, great question there. I've seen card readers that allow simultaneous copy/writing between the cards, but I haven't seen or heard of RAID being available for SDHD cards before. It would be really neat if that's possible. Would we really need it though or benefit the cameras?

i have about 20 SDHD cards lying around the house, ranging from 4GB upto 32GB.

i do have 4x 32GB 1333 SDHDs.... if there was a way to put them in RAID0, i think they would out-perform any SSD out there. (expensive though)

Wow, do you do a lot of photography?

Weren't the older gen Compact Flash quite fast too? They weren't the easiest to mount into a PC though. That would be a pretty cool technique to be able to use. It will only be useful on the PC side right? I mean you wouldn't able to fit it into a camera even if this was possible?

i am sure some manufacturer could make a raid card that incorporated card slots.

how neat would that be?

it would look like a revodrive, but have detachable SDHD cards

(the cards are/were for an old camera, which i don't use anymore)

Hey, I was just thinking about it being similar to the OCZ Revodrives. It would be miniaturised drastically. That would be really neat. Or manufactures could just make a SD card that is twice as fast as the current fastest cards. It would be so expensive that I'd rather save money for a SSD instead.
