hey ppl,my rig specs:

AMD P2 940 (stock cl****/cooling)

ASUS M3N-HT DELUXE

Corsair XMS2 PRO RAM 2Gb@800Mhz

using onboard VGA

Antec 900 (all noctua fans)

lite-on optical drive

Xigmatek 850w PSU

seagate 160Gb (OS)

seagate 250 Gb (storage)

Vista 64bit

so hear is the problem,my gtx 260 broke on me and ive been using on board VGA and i no that it will use some of the RAM i have installed on my system i also no vista 64bit is RAM hungry, but its been fine (general running wise) up and till a few weeks ago,it seems to be fine for about 20min evrything is how it should be fast internet browsing and generaly snappy but after 20 min it goes sooooooo slow and firefox will keep not responding apps take tripple the time to load and windows explorer keeps crashing/not responding but when i re-start its fine again for 20min then it starts all over again,so my question is wtf is going on ive ran AV scans, malaware scans spybot and even stinger and they have found nothing its realy strange so any help as to what this maybe would be much appreciated.

thanks

You need to monitor temperatures, use CPUID HWMonitor and let it run all day long while you're using the computer. If the slowdowns weren't happening with the nvidia graphics card maybe your NB is overheating, or you have memory or harddrive problems... it's hard to tell really...

Start monitoring temperatures and voltages. Crashes are related to failed overclocking or unstable components (CPU and/or RAM), but it could be anything really...

If there is nothing wrong with the hardware, start looking in the software, consider a system reinstall.

thanks.

the CPU/RAM hve been perfect the whole time ive had them the problem has only been hapning sometime after i took out the 260,cpu temp never goes over 35c mobo 25c HHD 30c,the max on the NB is 49c i dont no how high it needs to be for it to start messing up,its hit 63c before and been ok,it could be the OS drive its been maing weard spinup noises since i got it maybe no its starting to crumble lol.

why do you suggest a re-install

Because software problems are very hard to diagnose if you're not sure exactly what processes (and what software spawns them) run at one specific time. When you reinstall everything you have the chance to test the problem on "clean" software.

If you think it's a HDD problem, run some disk scans, looped throughoutput test, and if you see an abrupt drop in performance then you'll have your answer.

ive ran HDTUNE, seagate tools they are all fine i should be getting a new gpu and more faster RAM soon so if the problem still persists then its a new HDD.

Install HDD health it will tell the temp and the health of your hard drive so that way you will know when to back up your stuff

thanks, erm how accurate is that program,if it is very then on my main storage drive whitch has pics and vids that i will never get back is at 24% health
