Thanks lads, you see I assumed cause it was a 3800 that it would be easy to run it at 3.5

I've done some tests of the things that use to take forever with my old one, things like making clips in cs, rendering cs movies in vegas etc are SO MUCH FASTER. I'm well impressed. Just hoping this memory will sort my games out like it did for Ham. I read on BF2 that 512 is the absolute minimum to use so maybe that explains it.

I've installed 3 nvidia drivers, is it possible these could be conflicting?

The way AMD rates / names their processors is with the speed equivalent to a P4 and has no real bearing with the actual clock speed of the processor.

The reason AMD did this was to help people identify the speed eqivalency between amd / p4 processors. For example, an A64 3000+ runs at 1.8ghz but is the speed equivalent of a 3ghz p4. The reason this is so is due to amd's awesome architecture which can complete 9 operations per clock cycle whereas a p4 can only complete 6 operations per clock cycle which makes the athlons MUCH faster at lower clocks.

Taa!

I feel like im in collage still :p

Thanks for breaking it down!

As I said after you said 2.5 was damn good to be getting I tried some personal tests on things I use daily and saw amazing differences.

Juts put in the Gig of RAM so time for some Gaming and hope for no hangs! :D

You might want to check the BIOS is up to date on the bord, my Asus A8n Delux was pretty sketchy when trying any OC untill i updated the bios. The best cource of action, is to update the bios, see your Asus manual. Then uninstall all the Nvida drivers and get the fresh ones of the Nvida website.

Yea, BF2 still crashing randomly :/

Its all alot smoother tho, like loading the game, the look of the game etc, I don't know, seems to be when theres a lot on teh screen and that, I'll try and turn some stuff down on the game.

Think I need to sort out some more fans for my case/new case cause was a bit hot in there when I was connecting my CD drive after last crash.

Ok, Im still having problems with the 3 more demanding games, COD2, BF2 and Quake 4.

They all randomly lock up meaning I have to restart my pc.

Can someone direct me in how to clear all drivers so I can install just the latest one to see if that fixes it.

Ta

i got the same cpu, but i only took it up to 2150mhz, since it froze at 2200mhz (i have crap generic ram and the stock cooler)
