well, i'm not a pro in this, so i need some help. my motherboard is Gigabyte z68ap-d3 and processor is intel core i5 2310. can it handle memory with more than 1333mhz and will this memory gain significant perfomance increase? and what memory can you recommend for me?

Oh and dont forget once you go over 4Gb of ram then you'll best of using the 64 bit version of windows 7

the hyper x looks good, but the geil has a higher frequency, i would also say that the heat spreaders on the geil look tall so it may be troublesome with big heatsinks. i would say that 8gb of 1600mhz will be more than enough for gaming and general internet browsing and what not.

If you're interested in the look of the memory modules then consider the Corsair Vengeance memory kits, they do a 1600MHz 8GB kit for around £40 and they look the bee's knee's. Also available in multiple colours. Not so good if you have a large heatsink but you can get low profile versions (smaller heatsink on the memory)

1600Mhz is the sweet spot

I would recommend the Corsair XMS3 1600MHz kits since they are low profile if you have a big heat sink and worried about sizing.
