Help with first rig.

Hey guys.

Basically I want to build my first rig. I've mostly bought pre-built for many years and this time around I wanted to upgrade and build it myself for value's sake.

I've spent days putting together parts that I like, before realizing that I was pretty much picking what I liked the look of rather than actually knowing what I was looking at.

So would you guys have any suggestions for a rig on around a 800-1000 pounds budget.

(This includes case, motherboard, GPU, CPU, RAM, Cooler) I have hard-drives, monitor, keyboard, mouse and dvd-drives etc.

Ah, How stupid of me to forget to mention that.

Gaming, Gaming, MORE GAMING. I'm hoping to do some livestreaming and record some footage for Lets plays and such, but that's it.

MSI GD65, 8gb Mushkin/Corsair RAM, GTX 670, Noctua D14.

I'm guessing you'll be rendering the videos when you record them so the processor depends on how much you'll be doing...
I'd say get the 3570k...

But, if you are rendering a fair bit, go for the 3770k.

You'll see no difference whatsoever between the 2 in anything other than rendering the videos - and even then it'll probably save 1 minute per 20 min video maybe? So depends if you think that's worth the £70 difference really.

The case is your choice - look to spend over about £65 on one at least, and ask us what we think of it when you have one in mind. We dont know what you like the look of ;)

Well, I'll be honest. The case I had in mind and love the look of is the Corsair 600T white. It's fairly expensive and I blame tintomlogan's videos on so many awesome cases damnit.

There's so many different versions of the 670 card I wouldn't really know where to start to be honest. Can you provide links or isn't that allowed on forum? ^^;

Oh I forgot to mention that I still have a CX 600 power supply that might serve until I want to upgrade to SLI in the future?

Any thoughts on the Corsair 600T case? It's a little expensive but seems pretty braindead easy for a first time builder.

Also. Is it worth going for the EVGA 670 FTW 2GB? 325 pounds.

I wouldn't go for the FTW 670 unless you are going to be watercooling, My Recommendation would be either the Gigabyte Windforce or the KFA2

So is the 670 FTW simply an overclocked version of the card? Will I need water cooling to actually overclock my stuff as that's what I was hoping to do. (This is a two-part learning experience for me!).

Also, What do you think about the sabertooth Z77 motherboard? I've been looking into it and the afore suggested MSI-GD5.

You guys are awesome, thanks for all the help and suggestions.

No not at all, the 670 FTW has a 680 pcb so you can just use a 680 waterblock, you DO NOT need watercooling to overclock, either the Windforce or KFA2.

As for the Motherboard I would stick to MSI for Z77, Get either the GD55 or GD65
