have a read through that mate and take some of the info of it

i would go i3 IMo what will it be used for

oh okay thanks, mostly normal use, bit of editing, stuff like that.

edit: would this work?

Motherboard: MSI P55A-GD65

CPU: Intel Core i3

GPU: not sure yet

RAM: CORSAIR 4GB 1333MHz CL9 DDR3

SSD: mushkin 40GD ssd

HD: Western Digital 500GB 7200RPM

PSU: Corsair CMPSU-500CX 500W Power Supply

will this be good enough, and what should i get for the GPU, PSU and ram?

okay i got the PSU and RAM sorted, how much are them Graphics cards costing?

Edit: will the 5770 work on that MB if so i shall go with that one.

Because firstly the I3 goes to 4ghz pish. It's dual cored with hyperthreading too. For example.

£229. That comes with a good board, good cooler and ram.

Obviously the reason many around here would go I3 on your budget is because it leaves far more headroom for a better graphics card

At that sort of level to match an I5 overclocked you would need a 470/570 to get the most out of it. Putting a 460 in there wouldn't squeeze the performance out of it. Don't worry about that bundle being pre overclocked, it's all under warranty.

And that should be everything. £566. Get an SSD for about £60, laughing. Will absolutely blow you away

okay i just wanted to know, why you said you would choose a i3 over i5, its just out of interest.

The i3 at 4 GHz+ is still a really great setup (check out the budget build video Tom made), the graphics card is far more important at 1080p and resolutions of that caliber.

The i3 is a great little chip. I got really excited when I saw the 600 pound gaming rig. I love when theres components that will perform great contrary to them being the most inexpensive and less flashy. That system can be had for even cheaper if your a good overclocker. For fun I put all the parts in my cart at the egg just to see. Ended up being in the 400-500 DOLLAR price range. I had to put a currency gadget on my desktop because I didn't know what the hell a L with a ~ through it was. lol

If your limit is that low, you might as well get rid of the SSD thing, you can do a lot more with your money without that.
