I'm looking at building my first watercooling rig and have made a list of stuff, not sure on what additives etc to use as never built a watercooling rig before

12V Laing DDC-1T+ Ultra 18W (Swiftech MCP355)

Alphacool Clear Plexi DDC Pump Top

Alphacool AGB Plexi Reservoir for DDC Top

50mm Laing DDC O-Ring - Green

EK CoolStream Radiator XT 360

EK CoolStream Radiator XT 240

HEATKILLER CPU Rev3.0 775 LC Block

PT Nuke

7/16" ID - 5/8" OD XSPC Black Hose 4m

PrimoChill Anti-Kink Coils 5/8"- UV Orange

1/4" BSPP - 1/2" Hose Tail XSPC - Chrome

I'm not sure whether to go for a single 360 radiator or a 360 and a 240 (am looking at new case)

At the moment I'm just looking at cooling my CPU but once it's all built will probably look at getting something like a Phenom II X4 & 460GTX (will I need 2 loops? or will 1 be fine?)

The only reason why I chose the block is because it has universal mountings for AM3/775 etc

Also I will be looking to have the system quiet

2 loops will be alot better fella,so a quad for the CPU and a dual for the GPU

just get some thermochill stuff or just some distilled water

If your profile system is right a 6400 and a 8800 should be fine on a triple if you not overclocking the hell out of it.

I had a similar 6400 and an 8800gt on a Thermochill PA120.3 and temps we fine with the GPU @ stock and a decent clock on the 6400.

I went to two loops after just because I changed to a GTX280OCX.

XSPC block, I'm using too with no issues.

Need some good fans to shift the air through the 120.3.

then consider tubing size etc, remember decent paste, good quality barbs and your good to go.

Don't worry too much about additives, I've always used all in one from Feser and not had my blocks gunk up.

Really depends on budget.?

not sure if you have a fan controller? needed really mate. Use a Zalman MFC1 or similar for manual control or what I use now a Mcubed t balancer if you want to go automated.

I was reading an article about using 2 loops vs a single loop on XS

Doesn't seem like there's much difference between having a single vs a dual loop

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=254683

Conclusions:

Under extreme performance scenarios, and from a pure performance standpoint, dual loops versus single loop are neither better nor worse, under the strict condition that the load ratios are evenly balanced.

Under the most commonly encountered loads though, single loops do win.

Under both of the above use scenarios, single loops also win from a reliability standpoint because of pump redundancy.

Just updated the stuff I'm thinking of ordering, not sure if I've missed anything

Also is it worth getting a silver killcoil ?

Most of the stuff in the loop is copper so was going to go for PT Nuke + distilled or de-ionized water

Am I reading that right, seems like you have a pump top and a Rez top.?

Just check as you only need the pump tops if using s separate Rez
