got my pc working last night and everything is installed and updated :)

problem is that there is no sound or any regognised sound output on the pc :(

the motherboard (geforece 6100sm-m) is ment to have a Realtek ALC660/ALC662 sound card but its not been shown.. cant find any drivers for it and all i can find are bios updates which i really dont want to be doing

any ideas ?

i assume its enabled in the bios itself? and that you have used the disc provided to initially install the drivers for it?

no pesific drivers came for it on a disc.. i assume the motherboard cd with the drivers on would install it with the motherboard drivers .. but the other ones ive had to try and find on the net ... not sure if its enabled in the bios as i dont no how to check

Go into bios, look around for onboard devices, there should be something like "HD audio controller" or similiar

Enable it ;)

It's probably the drivers. This happened to me when I first had my system up and running, Then I installed the drivers and it worked fine.

found the problem and fixed it :) check out my hardware in control panel and found that one of the pci devices wasnt working properly .. asked MS to find the right driver for it off the net for me and once that had done .. its asked for me to find the audio driver :D .. got MS to find it and install it and now it all works fine :D
