HELP! NH-D14 bracket STUCK TO BOARD.

The SecuFirm bracket for my NH-D14 is stuck to the back of my mother board and im trying to install a new board. I really need some help getting this problem resolved without damaging this board. Please any one help.

Try gently sliding a butter knife inbetween it and the motherboard and see if you can wiggle it free.

Your motherboard must have gotten pretty hot for that to happen. If it's melted on the only way you will get it off is by heating it up so it will pull off. Looks like you will have to heat a butter knife up and and slide it behind it to loosen it.

That's the only thing I can think of anyway.

Well i got it off of the board with the butterknife but at the expense of some of the tracers. -removed-!!!!!

Its a good cooler but -removed- mounting.

it melted a very thin layer of it that got it stuck.

Try using some Acetone to release it.

I would of suggested a plastic butter knife lol as to not damage the traces but lesson learned but as said must of gotten pretty hot to melt the lil footies

I dont know how it got so hot seeing as that board never let me overclock at all and my temps allways read as being fairly cool.
