Help needed to get 144hz by Displayport

Hi all,

I need help to get 144hz out of my monitor after an upgrade as I am locked at 60hz at minute.

Before I upgraded I had:

Windows 7 Pro
Gigabyte GTX760 4GB
AOC G2460PQU
Gigabyte Z68-XP-UD5
Intel 2700K
24GB Corsair 1866 Ram
Corsair CX750M
120GB Kingstone SSD Now
2 x Seagate 1TB HDD
Asus Pheobus Solo

What I changed was:
The power supply to a Be Quiet straight power 800w
Graphics Card to a XFX Fury Nano 4GB HBM
O/S to Windows 10 Pro Retail/USB (Clean install)

With the previous setup I was connect to the monitor using the DVI cable provided by AOC in the box and I could get 144hz no problems. I purchased a 2 meter Star Tech Displayport 1.2 cable for the new graphics card and am currently using that. Windows 10 is seeing my monitor as an AOC G2460G5 and not what it is a G2460PQU so I am locked to 60hz. I am using the latest hotfix driver on AMD website and have changed the power option for best performane as I have read that fixed it with a few people but unfortunately not for me.

Do any of you have any suggestions as to what I could do to fix this or have I not done something correctly? Any suggestions would be greatly received.

Just tried that and then rebooted but now it just says G2460 as the model number and no option to go above 60hz still. Thank you though

did you do a driver sweep after removing your Nvidia card? Or try reinstalling your AMD driver?

Yea I did a clean install Of windows 10 Pro after the graphics cards and power supplies were swapped

Can you change the refresh rate in catalyst control center? well I guess it is called Radeon Settings now.

What Radeon info gives and I will give that a try not up with the AMD software so might take some finding

Open Crimson. You want it where it says Radeon Settings Redesigned.Refined.Supercharged.

Look at the bottom bar you want Preferences. Click that.

Top left "Additional Radeon Settings" - click that.

Under "My digital flat panels" go to Custom Resolutions and try and do it there :)

for what it's worth i had a G2460PQU and you could only get 144hz with DVI only

this i had the same issue with my asus 1440p 144htz monitor using. DP i can only get 120htz 1080p max go dvi it gives the proper settings for 1440p and 144htz :-/

i believe the aoc and asus are the same panel they have the same part numbers just a different control board..

Well instead of getting a converter I just got a new monitor and that works spot on at 144hz using DP. The monitor I got was a Iiyama GB2788HS and I couldn't be happier with it :)

You have to manually set the refresh rate in the display settings on windows.

If it only goes to 60 then you just need to make settings changes on your monitor.

So its highly likely there was nothing wrong with the other screen.
