Help needed in choosing a GFX card

I would appreciate any suggestions that would aid me in choosing my new GFX card. I'm looking mid-market - can't afford the big guns yet, plus I have to upgrade my m'board, CPU, PSu etc.

My choices so far are between:

1> Radeon HD2600 XT

2> Radeon X1950 PRO

3> GeForce 8600 GT

4> Radeon X1650 XT

if you want performance on a budget, and don't care about dx10 then get the radeon x1950pro (I personally have the iceq 3 turbo version from HIS)

if you want dx10, get the 8600. The HD2600 didn't quite pull its weight when put up against an 8600.

If all of those are too expensive, then look at the x1650 XT (or a 7600 or 7800 series card from nVidia)

Imo u gotta pick 1 or 3, and cos I`m a biased fanboi I`d say 3.

I have an opportunity to get hold of a Radeon X1650 PRO at a really good price, and the only cons this card seems to have is:

1> No DX10 support.

2> low pixel shader and vertex pipelines count (12 & 5)

Otherwise it is comparable to a 8600 GT or a HD2600 XT. Will this be good enough to play Oblivion or similar?
