HELP! My raid HDD crashed

I did the stupid thing of playing with my psu while my pc was on and I think some of my 4 hddnow are damaged.

My setup is 3 hdd in raid (think it was raid 01, cant really remember since its so long time ago I configured them). And one disk was normal

windows is installed on the raid hdd.

I m positive that 1 HDD in my raid is defect as it makes noises at start up. I suspect that perhaps another one is too, however, cant confirm this.

I tried to take them out and put them in another pc one by one. 2/3 raid hdd didnt not show in the bios/windows. The other two that did were either empty, or needed to be formatted before access.

Is there anyone here that knows if it is possible to recover my data from them? I dont really care about the hdd themselves. Only need the data. Isnt it possible to swap out the hdd with others and they should be able to mirror the content to the new hdd or something?

In advance thanks!

we cant do too much if we dont know in what raid it was configured, it would be either 0,1 or 5. you need to know what raid you are running if you want to even approach data recovery.

if you give us disk sizes and what total capacity you had we can probably guess which one it was. it won't be raid 6 or 10 as those need 4hdd minimum

if it was raid 0 then there's pretty much nothing you can do, it doesn't provide any redundancy when any drives fail.

raid 1 is pretty much cloning data to both drives, slower but if any drive fails it can be replaced and data recovered or raid rebuilt.

same for raid 5, you have a leeway of 1 hdd failure, raid will continue to work and will rebuild when you replace hdd, if 2 die, then kaput.

im positively sure it was raid 01 and not 10 or others. its hard for me to say the total capacity size since i really havent been using my gaming pc a lot lately due to work. The disk were scraped together form different laptops. so they have different sizes. i was planing to upgrade the disks to ssd soon as i got 4 x 120gb ssd for free from a friend.

ive done some research now and im thinking of maybe not going for raid anymore, or perhaps raid 0 using 2 disk of ssd only and regularly backing them up with and external/internal hdd using some kind of software.

If it was a RAID1 so you have all the data, so RAID 0 if you have nothing and you need to restore a backup...

He mentioned that his RAID array consist of 3 HDD, so I doubt it's RAID1 unless one disk was marked as a spare in which case the array should had fixed itself. I'm betting on RAID5.

So if i understand this correctly you are running Raid01 with 3 HDDs, which means two of them run in raid 0 and the third runs in raid 1 with one of the two? Is that even possible? Assuming that it is, if one of the raid 1 hdds failed you are good, if the one running raid 0 only failed or if two HDDs failed there's no hope to recover anything.
