Help me choose new PSU

Hello everyone.

My situation is that my PSU started making noise and i can smell "electronics" from it ... that sucks. (it is about to blow) ;-)

Have looked around a bit and came to up with those 2 PSUs:

Chill Innovation CP-1000M 1000W

Chill Innovation is a danish company and it does not have "80 plus" certification (whatever that is). I cant find any reviews of it and i was hoping someone knows it ir can tell me something from the specs of it...

or

Corsair HX850W

They are about the same price (here in Denmark)....

Question 1:

How quiet is the HX850? My rig is very silent so i want to keep it that way.

Question 2:

It says: (Dual 12V High-Current Rails (2 x 40A)) --- What does that mean?

... I think that corsair has only 1 rail.

Best regards.

Michael

I agree with S_I_N: between those 2, the HX850W is a better choice.

It has a single +12v rail -- not having the Volts and Amps spread across multiple rails is better when overclocking --, it's "80 PLUS" certified -- this means it has at least, 80% energy efficiency at 20, 50 and 100% of rated loads, which have a real impact in your power bills --, it's Modular and it comes with a 5 year warranty -- btw, didn't your TX750 came with this warranty? if it's not void yet, I would RMA it instead of replacing it by a PSU that's +100W only. Unless I was struggling for case space and needed a Modular PSU or I was thinking on going for Tri or Quad SLi (or Tri or Quad Crossfire), I wouldn't change the Corsair TX750W. It's a great PSU. Have one myself working almost 24/7 for three years now and had no problems.

How about the noise level ?

Chill Innovation one is 19db max. While HX850 is all the way up in the 35db range... How is HX850 comparing to mine TX750? (not v2, the first model)
