Help identifying cable type?

I've just looked there too but the lightning cable is for connecting to mac/iPad/iPhones, there is sod all mentioned about the USB connection other than to plug it in...

I can't get my head around this, either I'm blind or this socket type doesn't exist.

That was because he thought it had to be a USB cable, but the original cables come in 3 variations.

Anyway, I've already posted twice what it is, so it'd be nice if OP started paying attention :pI've even done some PhotoSoup overlays for him...

Even if the connector itself is the same as the hmdi one, the connections themselves are likely to be different seeing as it is a Y cable with 3.5 jack plus either usb or lightening depending on which cable you are actually using. I would contact the company and see if they will sell you a new cable. It's worth a try!

Well, I just checked an unboxing on youtube, the actual cable is what appears to be, according the the info you found, a D type micro HDMI, with a PC and 3.5mm socket AND a male USB type A at the other end.

The 3.5 MM socket serves NO other purpose than to allow you to monitor the direct feed from the microphone.

Which means that to connect the mic to the PC, I'm STILL left with the basic requirement of having what is, according to the diagram you posted, a Micro HDMI, and at the other, a USB (to connect to PC).

Yes, it's technically a Y cable, but the actual connection is still direct from MICRO HDMI at the mic to USB at the PC end.

It sure looks to be the Micro HDMI but to be on the safe side I'd contact BlueMicrophones first and make sure it's not a Non proprietary USB of some description. Better safe than knackered Mic.

Sound advice. Thankfully there seems to be no such thing as Micro HDMI to Male USB in the world so all temptation is gone, so it must simply be a proprietary connector that happens to use the basic "D" type connection frame.

I tweeted them and they referred me to their support line, so hopefully this is something they can handle.

I'd certainly find it very strange if they didn't sell replacement leads in SOME fashion. It would make them very unpopular mics if so, surely?

I'd also like to take the time to say a big thank you to everyone who pitched in with this one :)

I may never actually get the damn mic working, but the community input was extremely nice to have, regardless.

Thanks peoples!
