Hello there!
I'm Jack, or Jaffa as it is around the internet, and I built my first PC earlier this year. I have had a huge interest in computers and, specifically, hardware for the past five years, so I guess I was one of the handful of people who were an enthusiast before they even had the thing they obsessed over! I never really had the funds to build a rig before, so I would spend my time either browsing crazy systems, casemods and hardware releases, or giving advice to other PC builders (over on reddit's buildapcforme subreddit, which I now moderate).
Building my first rig was incredible, but hasn't whet my appetite fully, though I doubt this is possible, so I'm already swapping parts. For those interested, current plans are to switch to a 4690k, H80i, GA-Z97N-WIFI, and either a 250D or 380T. Current rig is an FX-6300 & 7970. Can't wait!
It feels kind of ironic being on "overclock"3d, as every attempt to overclock in the past has been a flop. I began with a friends 2600k, and managed a few hundred MHz. Then I tried again with my first building using a 6300, and still only got a few hundred MHz, and even then it was unstable. Third time's a charm, eh?
As far as I go: Games, Arsenal, Scenery and Family
I've been watching TTL and the OC3D videos for a while now, and I felt it was time to get involved with the community for some quality discussion. Thanks for reading!
I kind of chose a poor time to post this, as I am away for a week effective today. I'll try to check responses as best as I can, though!
