q6600

2GB kingtson hyperX 1066(getting free of uncle)

512mb XFX 8800gt XXX

can anyone tell me how i could mod to have a cpu cooler with a backplate without removing the heatsink on the back of the p35 and which cooler fits

Hi there and welcome :)

This thread is more suited to the projects section but i'm sure it will be moved if necessary.

Not sure if you want feedback on your choice of components? Personally the blitz is an awesome p35 mobo, or you could try the maximus (no i'm not an asus fanboy!). G0 Q6600 clocks nicely, can't complain at free ram especially when its pretty decent and the 88gt is the best 'bang for buck' card out there at the moment ((although the hd3870 is cheaper, performs a little slower but has better IQ (Image Quality)).

I really don't understand you last sentance... You will be using a socket 775 motherboard so look for a cooler that has 775 compatibility, thermalright 120 is the current king @ ~£40 iirc, the arctic freezer 7 pro is a decent performer at the other end of the scale @ ~£17. These will both fit without modification but have no backplate.

If I have missed the point of your question please try to rephrase it :)
