Hello OC3D

Hello OC3D, my name is Gary, aka Grumpy Grandad. I am 43 years old and live in North Yorkshire in the UK. I have been married for 22 years, have 2 grown sons and 4 grand kids.

I have been messing around with computers for quite a few years, ever since the 386 and 486, earlier than that if you take into consideration the Commodore Vic-20 and 64 but, when you mention overclocking and water/liquid cooling, I am a complete noob.

I started to look around the net and on you tube and found the Time To Live Customs channel and Tom Logan. I find his videos full of excellent reviews which are very helpful and informative, but at the same time, laid back and friendly, which ultimately led me to here.

As I said above, when it comes to the overclocking and water cooling I get lost. So I am hoping that you guys are going to be able to answer the multitude of questions I am going to have when I start to build my new machine. Mostly I am going to be using Corsair parts in the build and I am thinking Alphacool Radiators and Bitspower connectors but nothing is set in stone at the moment

Hopefully I will be starting the build in the next few weeks, that is if everything goes to plan and I win my Tribunal.

Anyway, that's it for now. I will be starting a new thread when I start the build, and go into more detail about the parts I am thinking about using and asking the OC3D community their views.

Until then I am going to say goodbye for now and speak to you all soon.

Grumpy Grandad.

Hello Gary. Nice to have some one older than me around here

I'm not into water cooling myself but there's plenty of talent around here when it comes to that stuff.

Welcome to the forum and I hope to see more posts from you.

Welcome to the OC3D forums Gary,
There are members here on the forums that can answer any question you would have about watercooling .
Looking forward to seeing your build , enjoy your time here.

Welcome to OC3D. Looking forward to seeing the build! Might be worth waiting for Haswell though since it's so close

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I won my appeal so I should be starting my new build in a few weeks. I have loads of ideas running through my head and hope you guys and girls will give me your input. :)

Speak again soon,

Grumpy Grandad.
