Lo All

I fancy some helicopter flight sim action. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Would be nice if I could also have some shoot em up going on too....I know that microsoft do an add on for their flight sim 2003/4 but am really not up to speed re what is the best from a realism/gfx perspective.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Wow that enemy engaged 2 game looks amazing  :)

I'm not really into flight sims, but the graphics look good

I liked flying games like the old Descent. Still do too lol. Other than that meh. Falcon 4.0 is probably the newest flight sim game i play.

The realsism bit on microsofts is cracking but theres no game setup on the commercial side.Ive got the ww2 add on as well and the realism again is brilliant depending on how good you are you can set as much as needed to be computer controlled. Its not cheap though and the missions are basic but the the community is massive.PM me if your thinking of buying it;)

Apache Havoc! Havoc in an Apache .

Comanche 4 and Comanche Hokum are more modern games. (Other awesome games include Gunship! and Hind).

Gunship AGA for the Amiga. Not seen a game play better than that. (of course u can chuck in the speed and looks arguement and the 7 years down the line)

Picking u`r missions with copters and assigning them instructions and aaaarrghhhh! eff sake.

Sorry, Comanche didn`t cut it for me. Well put it this way, I played Gunship to death, and haven`t found a copter game on the pc that can touch it.

Gunship! was the PC version of Gunship 2000, although it was never finished properly. Have a look at Jane's Longbow.

I'd say either Commanche Hokum or Apache Havoc. It kinda depends whether you want a fun game or a realistic game. I think Gunship! was more of a fun game, where as CH or AH, and Jane's are realistic sims.

Gunship! imo scores more highly from the immersion/tactics side whereas Longbow/EECH score better on the system simulator side.

They all should be cheap as chips (EECH was 99p in Sainsbury's iirc a few weeks ago!) so get the lot! :p

Got a few whirly bird sims myself. Some really old ones as well.

KA50 Hokum (An old 486 job, that one)

DiD Apache Longbow & Hind (Graphics looking really dated now)

Gunship (Great, still play that one)

EE/Apache v Havoc & EE/Comanche v Hokum (Sadly they don't work on XP)

Like the look of the new EE one though. Prolly gonna be DX10 only though:(

Now I've hit a dumb moment:p

So are these a complete new game or is it a patch to bring the Razorworks sims up to date?

This is the EE/Apache v Havoc that I've got I've got:

The Comanche v Hokum is very similar, by Razorworks as well.

Patches.

Razorworks released the source code to the community but retained the right to use any community improvements.

It will be interesting to see how different the updated EECH2 is from the community upgraded EECH.

Anyway, better to ask your questions on http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=13&page=1 as I haven't run EEAH or EECH in a while.
