head swap

I've read a lot about people changing the heads on the mach 2's. Is this as simple as changing a waterblock on a watercooling loop or is there a lot more to it?

No its not as simple as that

What you need to do is have a licenced fridge engineer de gas your unit then remove your head braze the new head on vac the system out re gas the unit and tune the unit

I do this :D

Fatty does some nice 'head' work heheh

I don't know if I'd say it's just worth it if you need a regass, if you want much better and colder temps, then the head and regass are very much worth it.

From a standard mach2 to a 507 and chilly head is what? almost 40c colder? At least 30c anyways.

From a GT to 507/chilly it's more like 20c colder or close to it under load, and that's enough to take you to a whole new level of OC action.

Just depends if you're happy with the OC you have, or you want more.

I had it done from GT to Chilly by our Fatty here and I never regretted it for a second :D

That sound great :)

So it is posible to regass an old Mach II with R507.

But what about pressure/heat of the compressor? Doesn't it increase with the R507 in a NL11F compressor made for R134a?

Out of curiosity, who makes the chilly heads and what's the price of these units?
