HD 6850 / GTX 460 1GB / GTX 465??

Aye,so I hear. It all comes down to temps tbh.

Gotta say it is rather exciting to know what a 465 did with an arctic cooler on it (twin frozr). I bet it would overclock to heck if it had a triple on !

but the 465 is a pointless card IMO

470+aftermarket coolin= sex

All of the first 4 series on stock cooling were pants if you wanted to oc. However this one

Wasn't and proved once and for all that with decent cooling they were very fast.

If I decide to sell the 5770s (no plans atm, got a crossfire PC just waiting three feet away

) then I'll cool it very soon.

Right guys, I just made a deal with some guy who was willing to trade his PowerColor 5850 PCS+ for my card and 70 euros. Now that means I get the 5850 PCS+ for about 170-180 euros. The cheapest I can find a 5850 second hand is 200 euros. I think I got myself a pretty sweet deal, since I will primarily be using it for gaming anyway. If I had gotten myself a GTX 460 I might have started folding on the GPU, but my mom wouldn't have been happy about that anyway

That, and the fact that I can buy a second 5850 cuz my board only supports crossfire when I have the money, means I'm happy

Well, that deal didn't make it.

I'm hoping I can get either a 5850 or a GTX470, but I probably won't be able to.

If I can't, I'll get myself a PNY GTX 460 1GB XLR8 Enthusiast Edition or if possible a MSI GTX460 HAWK

I just read a review on the 470. It overclocks really well. Apparently so well that it can beat a 5870. Mind you, the 5870 isnt overclocked.

I just want a one card does all tbh. To get Physx I need to run three and they all end up running the same heat as a 470. Each card.

The 470 will easily match the 5770s in the worst case scenario and is one card. Has Physx, Cuda, and doesn't need patches profiles or anything else. I have begun to notice recently more and more games are only using one of my cards and it's mega hassle wiping all the profiles and putting them back ETC.

For the price I paid I'm dead chuffed. Only downside is Stepy has gotten his folding teeth in now and won't let go

too bloody right i wont u will fold and its my task to get u 2

dude there really isnt ZERO need to get a factory overclocked card plain vanilla reference will overclock the exact same, extept the hawk as its got triple over voltage but its not far short price wise of a 768 sli and get its ass utterly spanked

I know.. (I'm not stupid ^^) The only reason I'm considering the PNY OCed version is because it's the cheapest GTX460 1GB available in the Netherlands. However, with the GTX460 Hawk I get Assassins Creed 2 and H.A.W.X.2 for free, and it overclocks like hell. The GTX470 is still a serious contender though, so I might just end up buying one of those. Right now I'm also considering the HD6870, but it's availability is next to zero at the moment.

Edit: Well my 5770 is gone, now running a XFX 7600GT Fatal1ty edition with 256MB ram! FTW.
