'Hardware' RAID controller vs Intel Matrix

I brought this up in another thread but forgot to follow up on it, concerning the 'hardware' RAID controller on my mobo vs the Intel Matrix Storage 'RAID' version... will I see better speeds using the 'hardware' version? This gets a bit trickier since the 'hardware' version is used on the two 6GBs SATA III slots and the 6x SATA II use the IMS RAID.

My tentative plan: Put two SATA II 64GB SSD's on the 'hardware' RAID0 to eck out all the speed I can while using the standard IMS with two 750GB WD Black in RAID0...

...feel free to weigh in with your knowledge and thoughts.

Unless you are using drives that require massive amounts of bandwidth like SSD's i doubt you will see any difference tbh. But considering the set up time it wont hurt to actually have a play dude and see what configuration works best.
