Hard drives and replacement hub for BT crap hub

I didn't want to flood the forums with so many questions so thought it be ok to put them here.

My first question is what hard drive would you recommend as a storage drive for say steam and other software if your ssd is your boot drive...Im testing out a WD scorpion blue and I find the speeds fine just well its a old, 2.5 and only 250gb ...I would rather choose life span over speeds.

My second question is well I have no idea what to buy to replace my BT home hub with.. I'm fed up of the poor connections using wifi and its constant turning its self of at random times .
It is faulty but Bt keep fobbing me off.
So when picking up a new set up what should I look for? any brands?..All I know is I need one that works with ADSL

Western Digital have very reliable HDD. 1TB or better and youll be happy. 1TB is also reasonably priced. Look at the WD Caviar Black, though Blue or Green might be cheaper.

As for modem/routers, Netgear and DLink make very popular models which are reasonably priced. Som people might suggest Billion but I dont really know much about them, except that they are fairly popular.

I would maybe get a 1TB Caviar Black. Less platters, so less potential for it to die on you. I had a 2TB Black die on me after a year. It was on 24/7, so the situation might be different for you.

My homehub has been incredibly stable tbh. Better than most of my other routers.

Out of all the ones I've had, Netgear have probably seemed the best, but tbh, I've found my HomHub the best I've had...

WD black for a better seek time as the Green drives park their heads. Not the ideal drive for your steam account. Blue's are a happy medium but I'd go for a black personally. Top units.
Green drives for music & movies.

Cheers for the info...Ill pick a WD Black than seems like its every ones fav....as for the replacing that dam home hub Ill look at the ones suggested XD...thanks again guys
