Btw, were those pics taken using a 100x optical zoom? I think would have been standing about a mile away while charging a unit I'd made :p

rofl noo, up close and personal. Its only 200odd psi of highly flammable gas:D

I need too sort out my superheat and subcooling now... the compressor is boiling.
 
Itll get dressed up when everything is running smooth yeah. Had too shut it off for now, the compressor burned me and i got scared.
 
Very nice Ham, you need to triple evacuate for three sets of 8 hours, and add a tiny bit of propane between each. Just enough to get it to around 0-5 psi.
 
I was being quick NoL, 1st unit and was hungry for some ice.

Now thats much better for r290.

Your compressor is a bit small though, I can think -30C load will be near to waht hyou'll get on your CPU.

Ill be happy with that tbh. Its only a crappy little cellery though. About 60w.
 
Ya, its not so much about that and the temps, its simply r290 isnt as cold as r507a or r404a or r402a. And his compressors a bit smaller.
 
Stop tempting me:p. I could pick up a 1KG bottle of R404a for a bit of a price.

Ordered some neopreane too, this cellery is closer to death.
 
nice build log Ham, ive been reading this whole thing for a while and had to sign up to say good job, cant wait to see some results when you get it hooked up to that poor doomed chip you got there

BIOS cant read negative :p. The cellery reached 3.07ghz which was the limit of the motherboard i think (ASRock, anything over stock and your lucky).

Thatz all till i can get some more hardware too torture i think :wavey:
