Milling by hand is such a long task :-/

The mini-laythe ran in about £400. Another of my dads vast accumilation of equiptment. Im really lucky to have these facilities:D.

Well i can and prob will take it down another milimeter. The inside tube will then be 1/4" thick, wich seems alot tbh. But adds to the mass and provides a very solid stem. Don't really want the thing imploding...

Bleh...

This is taking soo dam long because the 1.5mm cutting tools dad got were tool steel, insted of tungstan carbide (god knows if i spelled that right). Meaning they have to be re-sharpened every 10-20 mins of milling.

Just one more step to go... :(

Looking good.

I think your cutter would last longer if you used some lubrication. Although the copper is very soft, pieces of the steel from the cutter become embedded in it causing it to wear the cutter.

Milling is finaly done. Got fed up of the small week laythe doing 0.01mm per cut. And went to the big one for 0.05mm. Turned out pretty good.

Need to drill a few holes, cut the steps and cut the outer tube and she'll be ready for brazing.

Real impressive ham, when i was MUCH younger I was a machinist (more like a helper) and I hated the lathe. I was more a Mill guy.

Really lookin nice:wavey:
