For the last few weeks I've been toddling along with this. Now it's nearly finished it's time to show it off.

It's the part of a phase change unit that the refrigerant changes form a liquid to gas, taking in a lot of heat energy.
 
How thick is that base, looks like you might have an issue with mass load to heat trasnfer there! Also what path is the ref going inside the evap? Does look good dude. Please say your going to purge it with nitrogen when brazing it up!
 
Base is about 7mm thick iirc. Path is from bottom to top. Last one went top to bottom and quite frankly, sucked. So I'm trying the other way. And if this way sucks even more I'll just build another. Although a maze was my next in line to try :-/.
 
That's ok then, cos I got no intention of building cascades (yet! :p). Need to build at least a few more singles first.
 
Good machining job Ham. That copper is very hard to machine, as I'm sure you found out. ;)

Just my opinion, but I'd face that thing down to where the base is 3-4mm thick.
