H80i issues

Hi, I'm currently having a few issues with my h80i at the moment. biggest of which is m cpu is running rather hot, up to 70 degrees on stock clock!
the other issue is the fans are set to tornado mode and i cant find the button to press for changing it, would somone mind informing me where said button is?

I'm running stock fans on h80i cooling a i5 3450 (3.1ghz stock clock) in my bitfenix shinobi case, heres HWMonitor screenshots for proof.

This was taken during mid day today while at desktop running only things like skype steam and firefox, nothing very intensive.

This taken just now after being in games with a friend all night, thankfully its not reaching the 80 degree mark, usually sitting around 60-70 degrees while im in games, however barely changes at all when i open and close programs/games.

This is 1am at night, so the ambient temperature in my room has dropped considerably. also its summer in australia.

Any help with the temps and fan control button is appreciated, thanks

Stock clock probably means your cpu is on auto volts? If yes that will be too high.

Have you got the fans hooked up to your H80i? If yes install Corsair link and you can change the fan profiles in there, if you turn the fans down the temps will go up though......

You can also try having the hoses on the radiator being at the TOP and your main CPU unit being mounted correctly so the logo looks right too

Yes, i understand temps will go up if i turn down the fans, but i cant stand them right now. i'm planning on probably some sp120 perf fans to hook up to my fan speed controller.
I had a close look at the h80i and realised there is not clearance for the hoses, they will hit the RAM. I mentioned that in my rig thread.
I'll look into mounting the radiator with hoses at top, will just have to see how well the hoses sit in that position.

I currently suspect the h80i waterblock was not fitted correctly.

Yes core is untouched on auto volts and clock.

Do what you can with the items Ive mentioned - do the vcore LAST. Get the black sorted first but tbh your temps are not THAT bad. Get link on etc though because the stock fans can be VERY quiet if you sort everything out

I understand the temps arent horrible, and they arent unsafe at all, as long as theyre staying under 80 degrees im pretty comforable, im downloading occt to stress test the CPU to see what it does under full load, and what temps i get and i will adjust fans accordingly if possible.
If i reply progress in this thread will it be replied to?

Tried turning h80i fans to 1800rpm, which is definately a tollerable level, started a occt test and got this.

5 minutes 30 seconds in, core #3 failed test.

OCCT is only using about 5.5gb of 16gb available ram.

Follow up test- max rpm on all fans. tornado mode, purely for comparison.
fail at 5 min 30 seconds for same reason.
for some reason occt is seeing core #0 at 1.5 degrees constantly which i find very strange.

Make shure you have the fans on the H80 the rigth way around ive seen people place the fans so that thay where both blowing in to the rad both side's makeing the rad boil.

I re-mounted them two days ago to be exhaust instead of intake, ill check just incase but if thats the issue im going to cry.

I did another test just to be sure on full fans, failed again, results here http://imgur.com/a/MjXni

Edit- i just checked and both fans are on exhaust.
Also corsair link is telling me the h80i pump is running at 2140rpm, is that normal?

If you are useing the h80 to exhaust air out the back remove that top fan as its moveing air away from the h80.

Okay, i tried turning down the top fan on the controller, seemed to give a 2 degree improvement so ill try removing it next time i'm tinkering with the case, as well as try rotating the radiator. i may have to flip the h80i for the hoses to agree, we'll see. but i do intend to remount the h80i when i have thermal paste and some cleaning agent available.

Did the occt test as the guide instructed, i hadnt previously read the guide yet. at 17 minutes it seemed to stop for a minute, perhaps it went over 85 degrees at that point.

CPU-Z was telling me 1.032 - 1.040v during the test, is that what i need to use as starting point for dropping the cpu volts?

Also what defines a CPU as running stable?

my h100i pump run at 2222rpm, so i hope it is normal...
