H50 heat issue ?

if its a 12v connector it will run at 12v regardless, unless like mine it goes off the PSU

so the hotter the psu gets the faster the fans spin even if you have them connect to the mobo 12v

If you are saying what I think you are saying then thats wrong mate, fan speed has nothing to with the PSU temp

(except for the fan in the actual psu that is)

well when i uste to connect all my fans via the molex connections (the one with 3-5 on one cable) they would occiasionaly whir up and down,it was the same if i connected to my mobo fan headers.

now i am using a fan controller my temps have droped at my systerm has got abit louder lol, sothe PSU is the only thing i can thinnk off

Are they PWM?

Pardon my ignorance here, But how do i know this ? all i know is they are plugged into random 3 pin outlets on the board. Should i get a 4pin-->2x3pin Y splitter and plug both my NF-P12's in the CPU fan 4 pin outlet ?

In a word no mate, by using a splitter they will spin slower, plug them in off a molex on the psu. The fans are completely wrong for the h50 anyways as Ive already said.

Doing the best i can untill i have the funds to buy a new cooling solution. and im waiting for ur wise words in a weeks or 2.

the coolermaster excaliber....is about the highest flowing PWM fan I have ever used. I have one on an h50 in a 4u rackmount server case. Push pull. the airflow is rediculous. It's like a blast furnace pumping out of the outlet of my case. I have tried h50's in various cases...with various configurations. The push/pull excaliber is the best so far. Only trouble is the ungodly noise the excaliber makes. It's seriously loud. It does, however manage to keep the h50 cool, and in turn keep an i7 875k cool in a cramped server case. The i7 is also running a VERY healthy overclock.

Probably louder than you will be able to stand but it works.

On certain chips the h50 does a decent job. i7 9xx series are not to be counted in the chips the h50 does well with. It has done well for me on i7 8xx series and below. Also did well on AMD 1055t/1090t
