H50 fans

Hi, I have a H50 at the moment (please don't shun me!) with the stock corsair fan and a xigmatek 120mm orange LED fan in a push pull config. Does anyone know if there are better fans that are worth spending more money on to see a good improvement?

well the best fans in the business at the moment are the Noctua's

that will be the best fans for your cooler.

But it might just be best to save up for a new cooler if you need a lot more cooling power.

I don't know about the H50. This is the most powerful 120mm fan I've found: http://www.silenx.com/ixtremaprofans.asp?sku=ixp-76-18, though I've not found any for sale in the UK. There is a less powerful version for sale online.

I was just browsing ARIA and found the silverstone air penetrator 120mm fan. Would these work well in a push pull on my H50?

It depends what you want. If you want a really powerful fan (220cfm), a delta at 4000rpm will be best. On the other hand, that will be louder than a hair dryer. A pair of noctuas will be quiet, but relatively low air flow. I've been using gentle typhoons at 1450rpm, which seem to do the job for radiators. Its all a matter of personal preference, do you need silence or cooling? What are the temperatures like?

It's not just CFM values that you need to look at, you also need to check the Static Pressure, which is the ability for the fan to push air through stuff like a radiator or heatsink. Silverstone Air Penetrators do have really high static pressure so they should work well. The CoolerMaster 120mm Excalibur PWM Fan seems to be a safe bet.
