H100 push/pull

I recently built a PC and am using the Corsair H100 as my cpu cooler. I want to do push pull but can't decide on what fans/screws to use and would like some recommendations. I know that Noctua makes some pretty fantastic fans but they also are a little pricey, but considering what I just spent on this computer I guess I wouldn't be opposed to them if I actually get a noticeable benefit to my CPU temperatures. Color of the fans and lights are not really a factor in my decision, really just performance.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Akasa Apache's for sure. Just as quiet as the Noctuas and perform extremely well too plus they're cheaper.

Also, if it was me i wouldn't run a H100 with push pull as you only loose a couple degrees, so imo it's not worth it. However, if you have the money and the case to handle the fans go for it!

The noctua nf-f12pwm are the one's to use with the H100 imo and as petrolhead said just use two fans

That answers all of my questions perfectly! I wasn't sure what kind of performance increase, if any I would get from push/pull on that cooler so that is good to know. Also I spent about $2700 on this build so I am going to check out those fans, if they perform as well as Noctuas but for a little less cash then I am all for it.

Thanks

No problem

The Apache's are £11 compared to the NF-F12's £19 and from what i've seen in reviews the Apache's perform very very close to the NF-F12's, and they are both super quiet too

a little window shopping and i found noctua f12's in the states on a easy budget.

i believe im not supposed to advertise their name on this forum, but youll see

a lot of reviews of unboxing, reviews and other tech tips on his youtube channel.

and they do have a state-side warehouse. selling at 15.75 each. i got 12 freight

paid on the way for that price.

Noctua fans I you must do push/pull. But it's not necessary with the H100. For me at least. My temps are currently below 50 under stress tests.

[sub]if push/pull, use the f12 as push and the p12 as pull. there is no need to focus the exhaust, you just wanna dispurse[/sub]

[sub]the air from the radiator. so if the top fan set is visable, you can use an different fan for the job.[/sub]

Just another FYI, you will see little performance with push pull over just push, certainly not enough to justify new fans and more space. I have tried it with 4 coolermaster Excalibur's and got about a 2 degree drop over just using 2 in push. Also the NF-f12 is not meant to pull air out, it is designed to push air directly in.

KoS, i found 5-6° drop on H100 for p/p (using noctua) with a 1.45v SB-OC. these thin capacity rads need max air flow to substitute the lack of capacity. dunna know the capabilities of the excaliburs are, but noctua has a great setup on flow.

Also the NF-f12 is not meant to pull air out, it is designed to push air directly in.

i think i already said that..."[sub]if push/pull, use the f12 as push and the p12 as pull."[/sub]
