hey just wondering on your views on a pull config on the h100 guys, as i don't have enough space in my case for a push pull config

thanks :)

Just get some decent fans and you'll be fine doing either push or pull :)
(Assuming you actually have H100 and not the H100i)

yeah i will be getting the h100 not the h100i i will be going with corsairs new sp120 fans to, i just dont have the space for a set of fans to push

thanks

i have 2 120mm fans at the front of my case so i have plenty of air flow, i just cannot fit any fan in front of the rad to pull air through. i have a dedicated spot on top of my case for two static pressure 120s tho

thanks

It probably won't make that much of a difference if you go push or pull. So don't worry about it :)

Axial fans are better at pulling than pushing so they'll work better pulling air thru the rad. I tried mine in push and pull and picked up 1-3C with the fans pulling air thru. It doesn't make a huge difference and wont make or break your cooling but pull is better with axial fans.

As for replacement fans, the stockers offer the best blend of performance and noise. Anand did a comparison of a bunch of different fans and the ones that were better were louder and the ones that were quieter didn't cool as good so the stock fans are the best blend.

thanks all just ordered the h100i cant wait to see the improvement over the stock cooler for my amd fx 6100, gonna need advice for a first time overclock at some point haha sorry about being a pain

thanks again

No problem. That's what these forums are all about. I've been tinkering with and overclocking AMD CPU's for a while now so I can hopefully steer ya in the right direction.

any advice for decent static pressure fans?or at least better than the h100i's stock fans?

Like I mentioned above, youre better off sticking with the stock fans as they are very good and offer a very nice mix of performance and noise. Theyll be fairly quiet and perform very well. Anything out there thatll perform better will probably be louder and anything quieter wont move as much air. Im not saying there arent better fans out there but just that the difference youll see in performance is pretty low and not worth the money at least not IMO based on what Ive seen.

the only closeness in performance but quieter were the Noctua NF-F12 fans. higher
price, but kept to 2°-3° to the OE H100 fans in a dual set. didnt try p/p.
i tried bitfenix, artic, cougars, GTs, swiftech and all had some idiocracy. i doubled
back and used SP120 undervolted 7volts and enjoyed them greatly.

yeah i have looked through a lot of reviews on fans now an you are right, its not worth paying £10-£18 for 2-3 degrees in it. tho i might buy some sp120's for the fans at the front of my case(they are behind a built in dust filter). well my h100i should turn up today so i will have fun installing that this afternoon, thanks again for all the advice guys i will be posting pics of my first build as soon i i get one of my 2 gpu's
