Now i recently bought a Z68 UD7 and ive been trying to overclock it and i was easy to get 5GH just set LLC to level 10 and put in 1.4v in bios and BOOM it worked and was stable....
My question was, how does LLC level 1 to level 10 effect Vdroop thus Volts you pump through your cpu.
After a few tests i got my answer....
for all of the following bios Vcore was set to 1.325 V
LLC disabled = 1.296v at Idle & 1.192v at Load
LLC Level 1 = 1.296v at Idle & 1.200v at Load
LLC Level 2 = 1.295v at Idle & 1.224v at Load
LLC Level 3 = 1.308v at Idle & 1.248v at Load
LLC Level 4 = 1.320v at Idle & 1.272v at Load
LLC Level 5 = 1.332v at Idle & 1.308v at Load
LLC Level 6 = 1.332v at Idle & 1.332v at Load <<<<<<<<< This one is best to match bios settings at load and idle.....great stuff
LLC Level 7 = 1.344v at Idle & 1.368v at Load
LLC Level 8 = 1.356v at Idle & 1.404v at Load
LLC level 9 = 1.368v at Idle & 1.404v at Load
& finally LLC Level 10 = 1.368 at Idle & 1.415 at Load
As you can see LLC level 6 is best as its idle and load Volts match and also match the number you put in in the bios, thus if you know what V you need LLC 6 is best.
all the LLC levels from 1-5 undershoot the voltage you set so you get lower v on load than at idle :S not really helpfull i believe but maybe theres a reason for it.
all the LLC levels beyond LLC 6 is just hard core overvolting and should only be used for benching i believe.
so anywho i will use LLC level 6 and im trying to get a stable 4.5ghz oc, now that i know what LLC to use it should be easy
Hope this helps everyone
