GTX680m or HD7970m

Hi im building a laptop from a p150em barebones, and i cant decide which GPU to put in between the GTX680m or HD7970m, i would like decent battery life when not running games etc, and Nvidias Optimus seems to be better than AMD's Enduro, but the 680 is around £400 whilst the HD7970m is around £240, which is quite a price difference.

Which one shall i go for?

wait, you're building a laptop... and you cant decide what graphics to put in it?

im that into gaming lappies but im pretty sure its more than just; "yeah i like this graphics lets slap that on there, perfect"

am i wrong?

and if i am then i would have gone for nvidia, just because i know that their laptop gpu's are very solid and reliable

I believe that nvidias 6 series cards are lower power than AMD's so if this is also the case in the mobile variations i think an nvidia card would be better for ensuring optimum battery life etc.


EDIT: P.S i bet i'm not the only one who would love to see a build log for this!

I really want to build this and write about it but im having a hard time trying to find a barebones laptop case like the p150em as no shop will let me buy it empty

I personally am going for the HD7970Ms in my laptop for the fact they bench nearly as high as the GTX680s but run much cooler.
Also the HD7970Ms are much cheaper according to the sites like XoticPC.

Yea they perform close to a 680 but the switchable graphics from amd is really rubbish the battery is almost half. And dx9 games doesn't utilize the whole GPU.
