Gtx 590 release date leaked

Opinions Tom?

Do you think an under-clocked GTX 590 could be slower then a 6990?

hes probably not allowed to say

Since Tom has mentioned ONLY 2 8pins. We can sorta workout the max power consumption. 8pins can provide up to 150w, while PCIe can provide 75w of juice, which means.

150+150+75=375w. Which is the maximum, considering 570 2way SLI uses ~400w it suggests Nvidia has either pulled out some sort of hat trick, or the card is gonna be underclocked and make all the Green team fanboys go

, while the Red team goes BOOOYEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: But looking at the brighter side, it shouldn't be hotter than the 6990.

I thought the 6990 had 2x8pins/375w. Why would the red team feel superior?

Doesn't mean anything.

You can suck as many amps as you want through an 8pin connector. Whether your psu would be up to it is another thing.

I've pulled over 455 watts through a 6990, for example. Whereas a lighterweight psu would lack the supply and the rig would likely shutdown.
