ATI/AMD have always been reasonable priced where as Nvidia tend to charge you the price of a mortgage - however ive heard they are looking to drop there profit margin to be competatively priced with AMD so we might have a shock with the price one way or another

well rumours are the 550ti will retail at £150 uk to compete with the 6850 at that price point and the 580 570 gtxs will price drop and the 590 will hit as the premium of £580 to £600 but the 590's are all rumoured to bundle with crysis 2..

doubt its 2x. 2x would be two 580s and the 590 shouldn't be as power hungry as two full sized cards. It just has less components that require power.

It looks a lot more solid and better built than the 6990 does, same cooling though.

I hope Nvida's fans are better and quieter than AMD's.

A single phase less then a full blown GTX580 to me says DOWN CLOCKED!

I can see this being slower then the 6990, Especially at higher resolutions were the extra VRAM on the 6990 will be a big advantage.

I don't know... seeing as having 1/2 gig less VRAM than the 6970 hasn't stop the 580 from being the highest performing single GPU gaming card.

It's bound to be DOWN CLOCKED!

Tis a 580 squeezed onto almost half the pcb. If they could make the 580 half the size, they probably would've.

A moddest 625/650mhz I'd think

Exciting thing I thought the enthusiast would latch onto was that the cover clips off... detach the fan.. personally I'd stick 2x crazy sized fans on it and clock the crap out of it.
