My old 5870 decided to retire earlier this week. The fan started making this really loud rattling noise that was ear deafening. So since my brother is currently in Indonesia I called him and asked if I could barrow his Asus GTX 580 CU II card and he said aight. Anyway, I picked the card up today and when I got home I noticed that I don't have two eight pin connectors on my old Corsair VX 550W. I think my PSU will be sufficient enough from what I've read. My brother is using my Enermax Revolution 85+ 1250W PSU since his 550W wasn't good enough. But that's way off topic, my question is, do I have to use an adapter to get two eight pins? I Google'd a bit around and one dude said he had the same graphics card, same wattage and he used one eight pin and one six pin and it worked fine, but I want to be certain before I try.
