GTX 570 or Crossfire 7770

Whoa guys. Why has nobody suggested a 7850?

It's the same price as a 570.

It will overclock passed a 7870 and will beat a 570 in performance.

It has 2gb of ram which is a big deal now, as KoS mentioned.

It's a single card solution but you can still go crossfire.

Oh and crossfire with troubled drivers etc is a thing of the past. We are halfway through the 7xxx release and cards are seeing around a 90% scaling which is huge.

@cyanide - no Lusol did mean 2.5gb. Nvidia did double vram versions however we are talking about £310 now which is a different ballpark.

Yes you could wait for the release of more from the 6xx series (whenever that is). You can always wait for the next gen which is never more than a couple of months away. For this price range you will be probably looking at a 660 or 650 and vram wise, given that the 680 only had 2gb I'd expect them to have 1.5 or 1.75 which is scrapping the minimum in my opinion.

Good idea but I'd still vote Ocing a 7850.

Performance/price is roughly the same

480 runs hotter and draws more power.

2gb vs 1.5gb vram.

Runs hotter, draws more power, but overclocks better and the only thing it's worse at is anisotropic filtering. It's also a better price.

I'm in agreement with M&P. The 7850 would be a very good choice, given the overclocking potential, the low power draw and the low noise level.
