GTX 480 overvolting

Hay guys, I have an EVGA GTX 480 hydro copper addition. Because of the water cooling the card naturally runs really cool. my max stable OC in afterburner With the voltage as high as it will go, which is 1.138V is 910MHz.  With that voltage my max temp running folding overnight was 52c. What I'm wondering is if there is software that will allow me to raise the voltage higher so that I can get a higher clock? If so What is the max voltage a 480 can handle before it starts degrading? If there is no software that will do it in windows and I need to flash the bios, what do you suggest I use?

But it seems a lot of sites have removed it, i don't really understand why

Hi. I've looked into this and I've found an Nvidia BIOS editor, that'd VOID warranty. I think it is not giving more voltage because it isn't recommended as other components on the board won't run well, might break at higher frequencys, volts.

I asked EVGA about it. the warranty don't cover BIOS editing

Thanks guys. The max voltage unlocker worked like a charm. By default the max voltage is now 1.4V. My big concern if pushing it to far though. Do any of you guys know how high the voltage can go before it starts to hurt the card, or will it all be fine as long as the temps stay low? Thanks again for all the help guys.

False alarm. As son as I set the voltage above 1138 it automatically drops back down to it. The slider will go higher but when I hit apply it drops back down. Any suggestions. Is this because 1138 is the max voltage allowed by the cards BIOS?

voltage unlocker didn't work on mine. What version of MSI AB are you using or how did you make it work? I followed read me file

I do and it still goes back down to 1138 every time. I'm using AB 2.1.0. All I did was put the .exe and the .ini file in the afterburner file in my program files and opened the new exe titled MSIAfterburnerVoltUnlock.exe. The only difference I see is that the volt adjustment bar is longer to have higher volts, But like I said every time I turn it up when I click apply it drops back down to 1138 again.

I may just have to edit the bios, but I'm not sure if I want to do that yet or not. I may end up doing it later. I need to do some maintenance on my water loop and I may wait to do it after that. I just don't know if I really want to take the chance of bricking a $600 card for what little more performance I may or may not get out of it.

You've got a monster mobo you should get more cards instead
