GTX 480, 920mhz core on air.

wow thats harsh voltages for 920 and above, this is typical for the 400 series i assume?
the new 670's can do 1200 on stock 1.175 or less

At 850mhz, it will top out roughly 70c, with 900mhz, it will top out 76c roughly.

These are not standard cards no more.

The chassis help's alot, the RV02-B is a master of air cooling.
Really glad i upgraded to it from my old Xigmatek Utguard (great case, but did not supply the amount of airflow 2 480's really need).

whats the heat output on it like? i assume its effective as a room heater lol
Big misconception.

I've managed the 850 clocks at those voltages for a number of people. Never suggested to keep them as that for 24/7 use tho.

Usually wus down to under 800.

Nice 920 clock, I'd fear for the lifespan of the card(s) tho tbh.

that is good for a 400 and really like those gelid coolers
just found the stable portion for my 670 though 1202Mhz clock / 3225Mhz memory @ 1.04v lol, maxing out at 74 degrees during a 12hour f@h session.
just goes to show the difference between 2 further levels or refining though doesn't it (yes i know keplar is technically a "new" arch, but it was formed from fermi's base)

True that^

I am thinking of either a 7970 or big kepler (whenever that will be released)
As a true upgrade from 480 SLi, the issue is, this setup is still too powerful for all games out there, even at 2560x1600, there is nothing i cannot play maxed out, or 1 down from max.

Holy crap, nice OC! Yeah 480 SLi is decent enough, I'd hold off from upgrading till the Nvidia 700 series probably.

Wow, been a long time, i thought i would add some more to this thread :)

Here are my single GTX 480 Heaven results, not at 920mhz, just a measly 886mhz on the core :)

Check the description for real results without recording strain.

Stock vs overclocked.

Quite shocking results :D

Hmm, i am trying to run 3D mark 11, but my drivers keep throwing out errors....
Display driver has stopped working or something near that..

My clocks are stable with OCCT upto 85c, and i can play any game i throw at it.

I am on 310.70, this is really doing my head in.. :/

Ok, i am giving a 855mhz core result with 4ghz memory due to driver issue regarding 3DMark 11.

855mhz result:

I also just realized i am running dual monitors, it may be this causing the drivers to act up, so i will now do the higher OC and test again with only 1 screen.

Ok, great news, i benched at 885mhz with 4ghz memory, and pumped out a score of 7000 3Dmarks dead on :D
