GTX 480, 920mhz core on air.

Heat is not an issue, but when you come closer to 900mhz, the GPU will fail if it rises over 75C, this is very hard to maintain on air at that crazy clock...

Does it fail at that temp when overclocking?

With my 480 when playing a demanding game, my GPU rises higher than 75C and doesn't fail. (Mine isn't overclocked), so i'm going to imagine that after you overclock before even load-testing the card, it's already at 75C is this correct?

LOL, i meant when overclocked near 900mhz, the 480 will need to be cooled massively, although strange enough, i have gotten this to 895mhz, and it passed crysis at 3180x2160 resolution with no hiccups...
I think it depends on how much your GPU will handle, i have given my other 480 to my bro, and that is the one that scored the 920 and 950mhz OC's, "Golden chip"

882mhz core 4000mhz memory, Crysis at 3180x2160 4K

Hey there, great to see your cards running so smoothly.
I've got mine water cooled. I'd like to know what you think?
ive got both cards running 800mhz but havent played with power settings.
I have some problems with SLI in a few games. BF3 likes it some days, some others not at all, Xcom insta crash as well as a few others. Not sure why.
Have a look at my build here.
thanks for any help.

I ran GTX 480s in SLI and had no issues really. LA Noire was slow in 3D but then it doesn't work in SLI.

I would also suggest posting a set of pics in the rig gallery rather than keep linking to Youtube. You'll find it easier for people to discuss with you.

The only advice I can give on your problems is to separate the cards and test them individually. You may find that one of them is faulty (same thing happened to a friend of mine).
