I have 2 options for a new gfx card for my rig. I am buying used of ebay and have a max budget of £45. Could you recommend anymore gfx cards used at this price range that will be a good upgrade from a HD 6570 (I live in the UK- so ebay.co.uk) thanks and Ill look at all the suggestions.

Main games ill be playing are BF3, minecraft, arma 2/ dayz

Monitor 15.6 AOC 1366x768

Rig Specs

Core 2 Duo e7200 @2.53Ghz
Asaka K32 Performance Cooler
Intel DG43RK Motherboard
2x2GB OCZ Gold DDR3 ram @1066Mhz (clocked down due to FSB on cpu)
Fractal Design Core 1000
Corsair CX430M psu
1x 250GB Seagate Barracuda HDD 7200RPM
1x 250GB Samsung Laptop HDD 5400RPM

out of them two, the GTX 260 is no good..... it requires 2x 6pin PCI-E connectors.. The CX430M only has 1.

which is a good thing in a way, cos the 5750 would be a better performer, but it requires a minimum of 450w, having said that Corsair are known to be able to over watt their PSU's but not overly sure if the 430m is the same.

if you can get your hands on a 7750, it's better still and does not require any PCI-E connectors, its also a lower power draw card with a requirement of only 400w

well as I said I have a very low budget and I would be able to run both gtx 260 and HD 5750 as I have a 2x6pin adapter and my max system power draw would be 350w (with the gtx 260)

I just checked Ebay.co.uk and found a few HD 7770 for <£65 and even some for (<£45 (current bid)). Personally I'd save up a bit more and get one of those. They're much newer cards, don't need a lot of power and awesome little cards for the price.

It can BF3 at medium settings with 60fps at 1080p. That means that at your resolution you might even be able to max out the settings (apart from AA maybe).

Just to be clear, you can't actually do this, you cannot run an AMD card and an nVidia card at the same time fella. (unless there's a memo i missed)

No I didnt mean running two cards at once I meant

my power supply could run either with with headroom to spare

You could also look at the HD 4870, I picked one up about 12months ago for £35. Its a little under the 7750 performance-wise but does not do DX11 and its power draw is less of that GTX 260 and is a better performer than the 5750...its does run hot though, mine with the stock cooler ran at 78-80c which was the norm....now im running a arctic cooling accelero TT2 Pro and temps are around 50-55c

Seriously, by spending 10 quid more you can get an HD7770. A current gen card that runs cool, doesn't draw a lot of power and supports DX11.

It'll easily let you play BF3 on high settings with that resolution.

True, I'm most definitely with you on the 7770, trouble is finding one that gets close to budget.......

@ OP,
Check on gumtree and maybe your local paper or something...ya never know
