Nice one Fraggles! I don't know why you would be dismayed that you got it working though :D

Well considering it didnt work directly after repairing the card I thought that would be the end of it.

Shit I have two 6800gts... one doesnt function I think because of something i nicked off it.. and the other is just faulty... it works but i have to point my A/C at it or it crashes at will.

Ur lucky enough to be able to do some testing... Pull out the suspected bad card, put it in the primary pci-e slot with sli disabled and see how long you can go without a crash, then put in your other card and see how long it lasts. Should be able to figure out what's going on that way, if it still crashes with the good card then u can start looking for other problems non video related :)

well i know its the card... and im not an sli guy yet... built my current rig right before sli hit... so i wont be getting sli yet... i have two because i broke one and bought another because I bought two... I had yet another broke one that I switched up at Fry's... yea waste of money atm but ah well.. im known to do that

Never hurts to have a spare vid card laying around :) I used to keep a spare Raptor in my closet in case one of mine died... Ended up needing it for my backup computer when the old ass 5400 RPM pos maxtor in it died, lol. I think the HD in that machine can access data faster than the processor can ;)
