GRID, Best lap/score comp.

Man I hate the TVR... we'll see what kinda awful results I can get here haha!

Noticed as well last night when messing around, if you go on career, view my cars or whatever it is, you can test drive them on pretty much any track! So RX7 drift car round Le Mans? Le Mans car round the docks? Some pretty good things you can do for a laugh :p

Maybe just be being a bit of an idiot here, but how are you guys getting screen shots? I just managed a 1.02 which I was quite pleased with, print screen, close game and pasted it in paid but just pasted it all black :( You using Fraps or somthing like that?

Yeh fraps is the way to go for in-game screenshots

I'll get the ball rolling, my first sub 1 min lap. Had 3 races, first best was 1.01, next 1.00 and then this.

Having a break now, maybe more later but I bet it can be got down to around 55 seconds by somebody with a bit more skill than me

incase any one didnt see the rule change, if your beat your lap time post it in a new reply, easyer for me to keep track of. ill be giving it a few trys soon

EDIT: well thats a bummer, i cant race that track AT ALL, ill re install it tonight and try it again

Meh. To be honest I'm not sure I can improve this, let alone get near the #1 time. This TVR has teflon tyres and wooden suspension.

At a track you need point and squirt grip and suspension that'll mash the kerbs, it's wholly unsuitable :)

When I first installed GRiD I couldn't play the US tracks. In the end I had to totally reinstall everything. Drivers were fubar.

Still not got it working Hunta? And VB you can improve... its less than a second off mine! Know what you mean about the car though, I really dont like it and kinda have to adapt my driving style to fit it :(

Trouble is Ducky my style/speed gain is (and always has been in many sims/games) my ability to go through the medium high speed stuff really fast, and brake hilariously late for the tight stuff.

The TVR doesn't do braking, and certainly not braking harder than a groom on honeymoon. Plus it's too tail happy to get away with lairing it through the medium stuff. Most of my time is lost on the super-fast right hand sweeper between the two back straights, but the car gives me no confidence to stay on it. The few times I've kept my foot in I run up the kerb on the left and into the barrier that suddenly appears to end the run-off area.

It's where I really miss not having the ability to change setups. A couple of clicks towards the front on the bias and stiffening the rear rebound would do wonders to this car.

Ah well, it's more fun than the F-Ford/F3/LMP stuff that just sticks to the road.

Wow, that was a tricky car/track combination. The kerbs and the sheer RWD power of that TVR made it difficult to keep in check. I did 10 laps and produced the best on lap 6, but after that I caught up the backmarkers and smashed my car into one that spun! The screenie shows my car in a weird position - that's because I was frantically trying to press F10 as I knew it was a good'n, though far from perfect.

There were plenty more places to make up time, in fact it was quite a scruffy lap, just no major errors.

58.33.

Yea, on my entry I scraped a wall a little bit but the majority of the lap was quite good.

Just had another few races but all seem to be 1.01 and 1.00 times, not had another under 1 min. I seem to do a good first and middle but mess up the end, or good middle and end but bad start etc, just getting a good lap right round thats the problem

Yeah, good luck, hope it sorts out whatever the issue is! You're not using a no-cd are you? I did before and it caused the game to crash loading some tracks, so I just put the disc in the drive now. Guess I'm lazy but it's a pain swapping all the time.

nope not using a nocd... my game installs via a batch file so its not unlikely it might have missed something, ill check the code in the file and make sure it has the install the san fran track info in the code

That's wierd you've done six laps in 5:59. It means every one of your laps was under a minute including the first lap that's from a standing start!!

Bloody hell.

First lap was about 1:02 I think, all the others were sub 1 min for sure.
