Graphics/mobo problem

Hi there.

My younger brothers graphics card stopped working. well, still 'works', the games run but hes getting strange segements etc appearing. ive not actually seen the problem yet myself, but thats how he described it.

So, my dad bought him another card. But the problem still persists.

The 2nd card he bought him was 2nd hand. so technically, it could be both cards faulty. But my dad trusts the guy he bought it from & sounded genuine enough.

But if the cards are in working order could this be then down to a mobo fault ?

Hope you guys can maybe shed some light on what exactly the problem is down to.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like artifacting. Is anything overclocked? How old is the PC? Im thinking somethings overheating.

Also try all new drivers.

Sounds like a heat issue... ^^ agrees with him, try taking the case side off and letting some air to the card..

sounds like heat or power issue to me, i remember getting artifacts from a duff Power supply, after replacement never saw the problem again

will be needing to do that again soon.. my tagan 580w is nearing the end of its days i feel
