hey all, im looking into buying a graphics ard for a future water cooled pc, but, for water blocks it usualy says that you need a reference design card, but im not sure if you need a reference design cooler on the card to make sure the pcb layout is the same or if you just need to make sure the pcb is the same as iv seen some cheap gtx 760 that im looking at buying but they are cards such as the msi twin froze for 220 pound. so could sometone clarrify this for me. also, is there a way to know apart from looking at the cooling design, to know if the card is compatible as a reference design car, such as the PNY brand has reference design coolers so i am looking at them along with EVGA.
thanks for all the help.
PS, whoever is the most helpfull, will one day have a dream of eating the most tasty cookie in the world and you will rememmeber it forever and be able to dream it whenever you like.

If you're buying online have a look for the manufacturer code/model, then try it on here:

http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/

That should tell you if a particular vendor card is a reference PCB or not. Though the only MSI Twin Frozr GTX760 they have showing says it's not a reference board.

you defonatly deserve a cookie, but, can you help me as i dont know what waterblocks i can use as it is coming up on the website that you said about with gtx 670 waterblocks, when i am going to buy a 760, and xspc dont have the waterblock i want.

to both will work with a reference waterblock such as the xspc gtx 670 waterblock, (just to clarify)

As long as you have a reference 760 then the GTX 670 waterblock will fit just fine, yes.
